The print medium is where we got our start. Mountain Studios started out publishing books. An example is The Uncle Tim Series, a complete set of music books for guitar. We have successfully printed parts of that project over 18 times, with a minimum print run of 5,000 books each time.

This has helped us develop relationships with different printers and understand the printing process in fine detail. We usually start the process of designing fine quality books by means of the Adobe suite. This includes Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. There is more to creating great books than using state of the art software, you must combine that will good taste and the ability to communicate in-depth concepts and precise details clearly.

Designing books today puts more control in the hands of the designer. What was impossible a few years ago is standard fare today. At least for us.
